I am a 24 year old freelance photographer from Wangaratta, Victoria. Born and raised in Wangaratta,I inherited my creative flare from my mother Sharon J and my headstrong nature and determination from my father Andrew. I predominantly photograph on weekends for my self established photography business, while I work part time during the week, study a business degree full time and a diploma of photography online. I like to keep busy and have a number of projects to fill my day with. My favourite pass times include writing, quilting, camping, photography and when the chance arises, travelling. I have travelled overseas eight times to six different countries and look forward to seeing Canada, New Zealand and Japan in the near future.
After graduating high school I enlisted for a year of service in the Australia Regular Army before commencing my studies. I have always had a passion for photography, particularly macrophotography, astrophotography and cloudscape. I joined Jesse and Marc on this project early 2011 and became increasingly passionate about the genre later that year. I returned to Wangaratta in late 2011 after the passing of my beloved mum where life began a new chapter which has lead me down a rabbit hole of wonderful turns and surprises that have landed me here today.
For me, solargraphy has been a medium of photography that captures a location across a period of time in my life. There are a number of solargraphs included in this collection which my mum are in, although you cannot see her due to the nature of the photography technique. Knowing that she has been a part of this project with me and is, in part, in the images you see, brings me great comfort and amplifies my pride in this collection.
For their love and guidance over the years I wish to thank my family and friends, my father and Oma and in particular my greatest loves, my brothers Robert and Thomas.
